Last Sunday Pop-Up with Mijita Wines

Join us at the end of September for a wonderful night of tasting with Lizzy Esqueda and Mijita Wine Co!

Esqueda’s light winemaking touch includes allowing wild yeasts to trigger wine fermentations and using neutral oak barrels for aging. “I want to showcase the purity of the fruit that vineyard stewards work so hard to grow, not the oak barrel itself,” Esqueda said. The women in Esqueda’s family called her “mija” when she was growing up. Mija means “my daughter” or “honey” in Spanish, and Esqueda wanted to use the nickname to name her winery. Her wines honor the work in the vineyard, and are true representations of place and terroir.
